Last friday we opened the White Cube with an exceptional exhibition by artist Thomas Markus Schumann. Despite the terrible weather conditions and our limited space lots of people visited the show "Es sollte eine schöne Familienfeier werden" ...
The exhibition is open this week from monday till thursday, 2 to 7 p.m. every day.

We are (very!) happy to announce that Thomas Markus Schumann will be the first artist to open an exhibition in our new gallery space, the White Cube:

The show will be accompanied by La Petite Cou-Cou on her portable record-player. Thomas currently develops a concept tailored to the special requirements of the Cube. More info soon!
With the White Cube, a 1.1 x 1.1 x 2.3 m (width x length x height) large small all white gallery plus 1.1 x 2.8 x 2.3 m black lobby and minibar, we are opening an alternative exhibition space within our gallery. It follows the concept of total reduction to the maximum minimum, but still complies with the rather traditional gallery scenario of three equally sized, completely white and luxuriously lighted walls for the perfect presentation of art. The limitation of the space for the artists and the visitors alike allows for a new perspective on exhibitions, and highlights the intimacy of viewing and consuming art, accentuated even more by a soft white carpet within the Cube, the possibilty of maximum two visitors at the same time and the consequential isolated viewing experience.
The show by Thomas Markus Schumann is the first in a series of new exhibitions to be taking place in the future and marks the debut of the heliumcowboy gallery-in-gallery concept. Throughout summer (July, August), we will set up the White Cube again with alternating exhibitions by various artists.
